अहिंसा सत्यमक्रोधस्त्यागः शान्तिरपैशुनम्। दया भूतेष्वलोलुप्त्वं मार्दवं ह्रीरचापलम्॥
अहिंसा (non-violence), सत्य (truth), अक्रोध (no anger), त्याग (renunciation), शांति (calmness), अपैशुन (not speaking ill of others), दया (compassion for all beings), अलोलुपता (absence of greed), मार्दव (gentleness), लज्जा (modesty), और अचपलता (steadiness / absence of restlessness) — ये सभी दिव्य गुण हैं।
Non-violence, truthfulness, absence of anger, renunciation, peace, refraining from fault-finding, compassion towards living beings, absence of greed, gentleness, modesty, and calmness — these are divine virtues.
“छोटी छिपकली और बड़ी दया” एक बार एक स्कूल की क्लास चल रही थी। तभी छत से एक छोटी सी छिपकली गिर गई! सब बच्चे डर गए और चिल्लाने लगे — “मारो इसे! हटाओ इसे!” लेकिन शिक्षा देने वाली मैडम, श्रीमती अय्यर, शांत रहीं। उन्होंने एक कपड़ा लिया, छिपकली को धीरे से उठाया, और बाहर जाकर उसे छोड़ दिया। फिर उन्होंने कहा?“हम डर गए, इसका मतलब ये नहीं कि हम किसी की जान ले लें। हर जान प्यारी और जरूरी होती है। ” क्लास में पूरा सन्नाटा छा गया — सब बच्चे सोच में पड़ गए। फिर क्या हुआ? सालों बाद, एक बच्चा बोला: “मैंने उस दिन सीखा — सच्ची दया और अहिंसा क्या होती है। वो बात किसी किताब से नहीं, बल्कि मैडम के काम से सीखी। ”इससे हमें सीख मिलती है? छोटा हो या बड़ा, हर जीवन की कीमत होती है। डर के कारण हम दूसरों को चोट नहीं पहुँचाएं। सच्चाई और दया शब्दों से नहीं, काम से सिखाई जाती है। श्रीकृष्ण जी कहते हैं: “जो दूसरों को तकलीफ नहीं देता — वही सच्चा इंसान होता है।”
“The Little Lizard and the Big Kindness” Once a class was going on in a school. Just then a little lizard fell from the roof! All the children got scared and started shouting “Kill it! Get rid of it!”But the teacher, Mrs. Iyer,remained calm.She took a cloth,gently picked up the lizard,and went outside and released it. What did she say then?“We got scared,but that does not mean that we take someone’s life.Every life is **precious and important.”There was complete silence in the class —all the children were in deep thought. What happened then?Years later, one child said:“I learned that day —what true kindness and non-violence are. I learned that not from a book,but from Madam’s work.” What is the lesson? Big or small, every life has a price.We should not hurt others out of fear. Truth and kindness are taught not by words but by actions.Shri Krishna says:"He who does not hurt others is a true human being."

" इससे हमें सीख मिलती है? – सच बोलने के लिए चिल्लाने की ज़रूरत नहीं होती। – गुस्से से कुछ नहीं मिलता — लेकिन शांति से बहुत कुछ मिल सकता है। – जो सच्चे, शांत और ईमानदार रहते हैं — भगवान और दुनिया दोनों उन्हें पसंद करते हैं। श्रीकृष्ण जी कहते हैं: "जो गुस्से और बुराई के बिना भी सच के साथ खड़ा रहता है — वही सबसे मज़बूत होता है।"
“Quiet but Truthful Vikram Uncle” Vikram Uncle used to work in an office.He used to give very good ideas,but some people used to steal his words and tell their own.One day in a meeting,a man again told Vikram Uncle’s words as his own.Everyone praised that man and clapped.Vikram Uncle got angry,he clenched his fist,but did not say anything. What happened next?The next day Vikram Uncle quietly left the job.He had written just one line:“Truth does not need to fight,it just needs the right place.”He left peacefully, without anger, without speaking ill of anyone. What happened after a few months?- Everyone recognized his truthfulness and calmness.He got a better job. – And the same old company said:"Come back… as you wish!"What do you learn?There is no need to shout to speak the truth.Nothing is gained by anger –But a lot can be gained by peace.Those who remain truthful, calm and honest – Both God and the world like them. Shri Krishna says:"The one who stands with the truth even without anger and evil –He is the strongest."
“मुस्कुराती ललिता दीदी” ललिता दीदी एक बाज़ार में सब्ज़ियाँ बेचती थीं। बाकी लोग चिल्लाते थे — “लो टमाटर! लो आलू!” लेकिन वो चुपचाप बैठकर, प्यार से सब्ज़ियाँ बेचती थीं। कोई अगर कहता — “मेरे पास पूरे पैसे नहीं हैं…” तो वो मुस्कुराकर थोड़ा और दे देती थीं। कभी गुस्सा नहीं करती थीं, कभी बहस नहीं करती थीं। एक दिन क्या हुआ? एक अमीर अंकल ने पूछा: “तुम औरों जैसी लालची क्यों नहीं हो?” ललिता दीदी ने धीरे से कहा: “मैं जो खाना देती हूँ,वो किसी के घर का भोजन बनता है। उसमें गुस्सा और लालच क्यों मिलाऊँ?” फिर क्या हुआ? वो अमीर अंकल बहुत खुश हुए। उन्होंने ललिता दीदी के लिए एक छांव वाली दुकान बनवा दी। अब वो धूप में नहीं बैठतीं, फिर भी उतनी ही सादगी और प्यार से सबको सब्ज़ियाँ देती हैं। इससे क्या सीख मिलती है? – प्यार और शांति से किया गया काम सबसे अच्छा होता है। – गुस्से और लालच के बिना भी लोग तुम्हारी कदर करते हैं। – कोमल और विनम्र होना कमज़ोरी नहीं, असली ताकत है। श्रीकृष्ण जी कहते हैं: "जो दयालु, सीधा और लालच से दूर रहता है — वो भगवान के सबसे पास होता है।"
“Smiling Lalita Didi” Lalita Didi used to sell vegetables in a market. Other people would shout – “Take tomatoes! Take potatoes!” But she would sit quietly and sell vegetables with love. If someone would say – “I don’t have enough money…” She would smile and give a little more. She never got angry,never argued.What happened one day?A rich uncle asked:“Why are you not greedy like others?”Lalita Didi said softly:“The food I give,is cooked in someone’s house. Why should I add anger and greed to it?” Then what happened? The rich uncle was very happy.He got a shaded shop built for Lalita Didi. Now she does not sit in the sun,but still gives vegetables to everyone with the same simplicity and love. What do we learn from this? - Work done with love and peace is the best. - People appreciate you even without anger and greed. - Being gentle and humble is not a weakness, it is a real strength. Shri Krishna says: "One who is kind, straightforward and stays away from greed -he is closest to God."
