विद्याविनयसंपन्ने ब्राह्मणे गवि हस्तिनि। शुनि चैव श्वपाके च पण्डिताः समदर्शिनः॥
जो ज्ञानी व्यक्ति विद्या और विनय से युक्त ब्राह्मण, गाय, हाथी, कुत्ते और चांडाल (नीच कुल के व्यक्ति) को समान दृष्टि से देखता है, वही वास्तव में पंडित है।
The truly wise see with equal vision a humble, learned Brahmin, a cow, an elephant, a dog, and even a dog-eater (outcaste). Such souls are equal-seeing.
"वह लड़का जिसने हर किसी को सम्मान दिया" शीर्षक: “सम्मान पद से नहीं, दिल से होता है” ऋषिकेश के एक स्कूल में एक गुरु आए। पहले उन्होंने झुककर जो प्रणाम किया — वो न तो प्रधानाचार्य था, न कोई बड़ा अफसर, बल्कि वह सफाई करने वाला आदमी था। छात्रों ने पूछा — “गुरुजी, आपने उसे क्यों नमस्ते किया?” गुरुजी मुस्कुराए और बोले —“अगर मैं भगवान को सिर्फ राजा में देखता हूँ, पर सफाईकर्मी में नहीं, तो मैंने भगवान को देखा ही नहीं।” सीख: जब तुम हर इंसान में भगवान को देखोगे, तब तुम सच में समझोगे ‘सम्मान’ क्या होता है।

The first person he bowed to was neither the principal nor any high ranking officer, but a cleaning man. The students asked, “Why did you say namaste to him, Guruji?” The teacher smiled and said, “If I see God only in a king, but not in a cleaning worker, then I have not seen God at all.” Lesson: When you see God in every human being, then you will truly understand what ‘respect’ is.
